Smt. Ganedepally Sumalatha’s musical journey began in her childhood under the guidance of Dr. Mudumbai Purushothamacharyulu, who laid a strong foundation by teaching her the basics of music and introducing her to the rich tradition of Annamacharya Keerthanas. His mentorship inspired her to choose music as her life’s path.
Over time, she came into contact with Sri G.V. Prabhakar, whose greatness and support helped her refine her skills and grow as an artist. His encouragement at every step strengthened her confidence and commitment to music.
Later, she joined Sri Inupakuntika Subramanyam, from whom she learned the depth and nuances of Carnatic music. These three Gurus have been the pillars of her musical career, shaping her into a dedicated musician and teacher.
Inspired by their guidance, Smt. Sumalatha began training young students aged 10–15 years. As time passed, the number of students grew significantly, and with the continued support of her Gurus, she created a lasting impact by promoting the learning of Annamacharya Keerthanas among the next generation.
